FAMILY RUN SINCE 2011
Dry, responsibly sourced wood is the ethical choice to heat your living space because wood not a fossil fuel and so burning it does not add to the atmospheric carbon dioxide which is causing climate change.
Whether you use wood or another solid fuel you need do two other things to be fair to local lungs. Use a modern accredited stove to minimise heavy and harmful soot particles. And regularly sweep your flue to remove these particles before they climb your flue and escape into the environment.

Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers to the things we’re asked most often.
It’s generally recommended to have your chimney swept at least once a year, especially if you use it regularly during colder months. The ideal frequency depends on how often you use your fireplace or stove and the type of fuel you burn. Wood burning appliances typically produce more soot and may need cleaning every three to six months. If you're unsure, we can inspect your chimney and advise on a suitable cleaning schedule. Regular sweeping improves safety and helps your appliance run efficiently.
Not at all. When done professionally, chimney sweeping is clean and efficient. We sheet up from your front door to the appliance and cover the stove or fireplace during the sweep so soot can’t escape. We use high efficiency vacuums, dust sheets and modern tools to keep your home spotless. A typical sweep takes under an hour and is very low disruption.
Yes. Even occasional use can lead to soot or creosote build up, especially with wood burners. Infrequent use doesn’t prevent blockages either as birds, cobwebs or debris can restrict airflow. We recommend an annual inspection and sweep regardless of how often you use your appliance. Prevention is always better than cure when it comes to fire safety.
Yes. We email you a HETAS certificate on completion and send a 12 month reminder when your next sweep is due.
We’re fully insured and HETAS approved and we follow industry best practice on safety and cleanliness.
Yes. We sweep open fires and all common stove types. You can also book a Sweep and Service or a Sweep, Service and Full Respray to revive a tired stove.
Please clear the hearth if possible, remove any ash if safe to do so and don’t use the appliance before we arrive on the day. If access or parking is tricky, let us know when you book.
A sweep removes soot and debris from your chimney or flue to ensure that it’s clear and safe.
A service relates to wood burners and involves removing and checking the fire bricks, cleaning internal parts, cleaning the glass and replacing the door rope seal.
A respray refurbishes a black stove by applying the manufacturer’s recommended paint and baking it on by lighting your fire afterwards.
We don’t go on roofs so we can repair the stove itself — doors, latches, baffles and glass — but not anything that requires working at height. For cowls or bird guards we can put you in touch with someone who works on roofs and for liner fitting we work with installation partners. The first step before fitting a liner is always a sweep and we can take care of that.
We’re a growing team of chimney sweeps based in locations around the country. We started on the Fylde Coast over ten years ago and new sweeps train with us here to our standards before working in their home territories. We share one office for efficiency and support each other on trickier jobs. We also have a bespoke IT system that makes booking simple and keeps everything running smoothly.
